Mama was up eating vegetables. I must not have gotten my quota lately, because 'the new little person,' as my 5 year old calls the baby, woke me up to tell me to eat some. And, as I munch veggies, I have been pondering the fact that I have done exactly NOTHING in the way of making homemade gifts to give to family and friends. It has occurred to me that during my 3 month hangover (aka first trimester), during which I spent more time on the couch than I have in my entire life, I might have been knitting. I was not. Thus, there are no cozy hand knits to wrap in brown paper packages and tie with string. There is however, enough time, and energy (fingers crossed) to make some wonderful 'smell goodies'--oil enhanced body care products. My love affair with essential oils has only grown over the past year, and I had some great feedback on the gifts I gave last year, so I've made a list of possibilities:
Bath Bombs
Lip Balm
Sugar and Salt Scrubs
Salt Soaks
Room/Body Spray
Body Butter
These are all wonderfully easy to make and, just in case there are a few other folks out there who need last minute homemade gifts, I'm including this recipe card with general recipes for body care products, so you can add your own magic and oil combos.
